Listen to You Don’t Actually Know What You Value — Here’s Proof on:
In this episode, I challenge the idea that knowing your values is the same as actually living by them. You might say family, health, faith, or hard work matters most to you, but what happens when something else asks for your time, energy, or attention? If you’ve ever said yes to something that pulled you away from what matters most, this episode will help you look at your values in a much more practical way.
I talk about how to uncover what you actually value by looking at what you resent giving up, when you feel most like yourself, and the decisions you’re proud of even when they disappointed someone else. I share a coaching example that shows how a good opportunity can still be the wrong fit, and explain how to turn vague value words into specific rules that guide your decisions. I also talk about how boundaries protect your values and why your values should show up in your calendar, your conversations, and what you say yes and no to.
In this episode, You Don’t Actually Know What You Value — Here’s Proof, I cover:
- Why knowing your values and using them to make decisions are two different things
- Three questions that can reveal what you actually value
- How the things you resent giving up can point to what you’re trying to protect
- Why a good opportunity isn’t always the right opportunity for you
- How to turn vague values into specific rules you can actually use
- The connection between your values, boundaries, and everyday decisions
- Why your values should show up in your calendar, not just on a list or poster
